Asset Management

Aviva Investors has announced the appointment of Thijs Hupkes as Director of Real Estate Client Solutions, APAC and Middle East, responsible for strengthening relationships with existing and prospective clients.


BNP Paribas Asset Management will relocate its Asia fixed income team to Hong Kong as they look to increase their focus on mainland China. Team leader, Head of Asia fixed income, Adeline Ng, will not move to Hong Kong and will leave the team by the end of 2017. The other four team members are yet to announce their decisions on the move.


Edward Allen, previously from Tilney, has joined Tyndall Investment Management as an Investment Director, to lead its private client offering.


Gemway Assets, has appointed Ariel Wang as EM Equity Portfolio Manager-Analyst. She will co-manage the GemEquity fund alongside Bruno Vanier and Elena Kosheleva.


Allianz Global Investors has hired JP Morgan Asset Management ‘s Jason Green as Southeast Asia Head of Institutional Business, a newly role at the firm.


Lee Manzi, previously co-Manager of Jupiter Asset Management’s convertible and multi-asset funds, takes full responsibility for this product range from September as a fund manager as his co-manager Miles Geldard, takes on the role of a Senior Adviser in early 2018.


Bank am Bellevue has hired Thomas Pixner from Rothschild Bank. as their new CEO.


Banking

Thu Nguyen has been appointed OCBC Bank Singapore’s Vice President, Youth Segment Marketing. She will report to head of youth segment, advertising and brand, Genevieve Gay.


IBD / Capital Markets

Deutsche Bank has hired Greg Sommer and Oliver Schiller as Global co-Heads of Natural Resources group. At the same time, Warren Estey, co-Head of the U.S. Equity Capital Markets, becomes Head of Americas.


Vincent Thiebaud, J.P. Morgan’s head of corporate finance in Switzerland, has been hired by Rothschild to lead a new Swiss unit of Rothschild Global Advisory.


Tom MacHale has been hired by HSBC to work on their European financial institutions debt syndicate desk. He moves from NatWest Markets, as an associate on the sovereign, supranational and agency desk.


Deutsche Bank, has appointed Oliver Schiller from Goldman Sachs, as Global co-Head of Natural Resources. He will co-head alongside Greg Sommer, who has managed the role on his own since John Anos was made co-head of global industrials.


Insurance

Nick Frankland has been appointed MD of Legal & General Insurance’s new Fintech business.


Cecilia Boned has been named BNP Paribas’ new Country Head for Spain, repalcing Ramiro Mato from the beginning of October this year.


Private Banking / Wealth Management

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has named Jeremy Davin Hume, MBA, CRPC, as Wealth Director and Vice President of the Southern Nevada region, and Douglas Gold as Wealth Director Las Vegas, Nevada.


Union Bank has hired Harold Rhee, a sales manager and coach from Fidelity Investments to be a Wealth Management Consultant in their Wealth Markets Team in San Francisco.


David Bailin has been named Global Head of Investments at Citi Private Bank. He moves from Bank of America Global Wealth and Investment Management where he was MD and Head of Alternative Investment Asset Management.


Merrill Lynch advisers, Gail Giclas and Stephen Neff, who manage a combined $577 million in assets, have moved to Raymond James, in Tucson, Arizona.


DBS (Singapore) have appointed a new Chief Investment Officer for its burgeoning consumer and private banking unit, hiring Hou Wey Fook from Bank of Singapore. He will be responsible for investment strategies including global strategic and tactical asset allocations for DBS’ clients and will lead a team of investment strategists and communications specialists to establish and maintain DBS’ recommended investment strategies, make and publish asset allocation calls as well as thematic trading ideas across asset classes of equities, bonds and currencies.


Emmanuel Roulin, has been named as Lombard Odier’s new Head of Partnerships for Asia Pacific as they look to grow their wealth management services there.


Commerzbank have appointed Stefanie Pietsch as Head of Sales Management Team in wealth management in Frankfurt, to further develop Wealth Management with regard to its digitisation and the strategy “Commerzbank 4.0”.


Hyposwiss Private Bank Genève has acquired Finamor Financial Management AG. Hyposwiss’ CEO Niels Bom Olesen will chair the board of Finamor and Board Chairman Solly Lawi will be Vice-President.
