Asset Management

NN Investment Partners has appointed Eric Verret to its alternative credit team as Head of Corporate Loans. He will be responsible for corporate credit investment strategies.


BFT Investment Managers, has appointed Laurent Gonon as Head of Asset Management. Gonon has been Head of Fixed Income at BFT IM since 2015.


Ash Ray has been appointed as Head of Governance Research, at Jupiter Asset Management where he will focus on broadening the team’s work across all geographies and asset classes.


Deutsche Asset Management has appointed Michele Gaffo to lead the asset manager’s insurance coverage globally from the beginning of February, 2018.


Fidante Partners, has appointed Joachim Klement as Head of Investment Research in London.


Edwin Chan has been hired by Northern Trust to spearhead sales across the alternatives fund sectors in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Chan will focus on accelerating the growth of specialist alternative asset servicing capabilities across private equity, real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy and debt funds.


Hedge Funds

Kartik Joshi, Tourbillon’s sector head for technology, media and telecommunications investments, has left the fund.


Man Group has appointed Charmian Wan as new Managing Director in its Institutional Sales team in Hong Kong. She joins from Lazard Asset Management, where she was Director, Head of Business Development and Marketing, Asia ex-Japan.


IBD / Capital Markets

Jefferies has just landed a trio of technology-focused managing directors from Wells Fargo with Michael Long, an MD in Wells Fargo’s TMT investment banking team, joining in November as an MD and Global Head of Tech Enabled Services, Thomas Wilson, Wells Fargo, Head of Business and Transaction Services, joining as Global Head of Tech-Enabled Services M&A and Patrick Bailey, a Director in Wells Fargo’s TMT Banking team coming in as MD in Technology Investment Banking in November.


UBS has appointed Chris Cormier to lead its Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) equity capital markets business in the Americas, from March 2018.


Citigroup has promoted Piers Davison to co-head its Financial Institutions Group, EMEA. He was previously Head of FIG Investment Banking in EMEA, and joins Stefan Wintels as co-Head. Tom Isaac, will focus exclusively on his role as Head of Corporate Banking for EMEA. Jose Meseguer and Alexander Pretzner have been appointed co-Heads of FIG EMEA Investment Banking. Per-Henrik Lewander and Tom Spreutels have been promoted to co-Heads of FIG EMEA Corporate Banking.


Morgan Stanley has made three hires in its sovereign, supranational and agency debt capital markets business with Julian Naden Robinson and Bobby Previti joining the SSA trading desk. Naden Robinson joins from Goldman Sachs and Previti from Nordea. Jake Webster joins from BNP Paribas at the same time.


Insurance

Cillin O’Flynn, who has been a Europe-focused executive with Generali for the most of the past seven years, has moved from Milan to Hong Kong, becoming CEO of Generali Hong Kong. He succeeds Phuong Chung, who has returned to Vietnam. 


CIGNA, has appointed Ms. Thien Brechon as a Senior Sales Director for France, to spearhead expansion into occupational pension and health insurance services for “globally mobile employees”.


Private Banking / Wealth Management

San Jose, Calif.-based Hansen Wealth Management has joined KMS Financial Services’ broker-dealer and registered investment advisor platforms. Hansen, is run by Blair Hansen, along with his sons Mark and Eric.


Wilmington Trust hired Kevin Johns as a Senior Private Client Advisor in its Wealth Advisory office in Atlanta, Ga will provide wealth management advice to high-net-worth clients including families, entrepreneurs, business owners, and foundations and endowments.


Brian Smith has joined Fieldpoint Private as Managing Director and Senior Advisor.


State Street Global Advisors, has named Betty Ng as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Asia ex-Japan, effective 11 December 2017. Ng joins SSGA from Agricultural Bank of China, where she was GM of Private Wealth Management in Hong Kong.


Juerg Zeltner, the Head of UBS Group AG’s $1.3 trillion wealth-management unit, is stepping down, and will be succeeded by Martin Blessing.


Private Equity / Direct Investment

Waterfall Asset Management, has hired Gene Weil and John Nelligan to launch and oversee the creation of a new financial services/specialty finance focused private equity platform, named Waterfall Milestone.


Sellside – Sales; Trading; Structuring; Research

CME Group Inc veteran Kim Taylor will retire at the end of the year.
