Asset Management

Credit Suisse is expanding its Asia Pacific team and has hired, James Scully as MD and Head of Product Sales, and Robert Cheeseman as Director and Head of Prime Derivatives Services. Scully moves from BNP Paribas and Cheeseman joins from Morgan Stanley.

Kames Capital has appointed Sam Berman as Institutional Business Development Manager, focused on the insurance sector. He joins from Amundi, where he was Director of Institutional Business Development focused on Lloyd’s syndicates, non-life insurers and life assurance firms in the UK and Ireland.

UBS Asset Management has promoted Tim van Duren as Head of Institutional Business, Benelux and Denmark, responsible for all institutional-related businesses of the firm in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Denmark.

Wells Fargo has recruited Eddie Cheng as Head of International Portfolio Management, Chenfei Ma as an Investment Analyst and Stephane Renevier as a Portfolio Manager for the Multi-Asset Solutions team. All three come from Schroders.

Amundi has appointed Stanislas Pottier as Chief Responsible Investment Officer. He was formerly Global Head for Sustainable Development at Crédit Agricole SA.

Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC, Chief Financial Officer, Ewen Stevenson will step down from his role, to pursue other opportunities.

Hedge Funds

Adam Menkes, co-Head of Americas Hedge Fund Consulting at Credit Suisse has moved to Goldman Sachs.

Man Group has hired Teun Draaisma as Portfolio Manager, working alongside Ben Funnell, head of the Man Dynamic Alpha team, to develop a new multi-asset strategy. Draaisma joins from BlackRock, where he was Global Equity Strategist.

IBD / Capital Markets

Rabobank, has appointed Gregg Fatzinger and Dean Asofsky as co-Heads of Wholesale Banking Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) business in North America.

Leonard Ng has joined Standard Chartered’s Debt Capital Markets team in Singapore. He joins from ANZ.

David So, an Executive Director for Debt Capital Markets, Asia Pacific, is leaving Natixis to join Societe Generale.

Ethan Farbman, co-head of Morgan Stanley’s Asia Pacific Fixed Income Capital Markets, will leave to join one of Morgan Stanley’s clients.

Umberto Giacometti, one of HSBC’s most senior investment bankers serving private equity clients in Europe has left the group, and will join Nomura’s Financial Sponsors group in the summer.


AIA has named Daisuke Iwase as Group Chief Digital Officer, and as a member of the AIA group executive committee.

AEGIS London has hired Accident and Health Underwriter Tania Patston from Travelers.

Private Banking / Wealth Management

RBC has poached Weissman & Dion Wealth Management Group, a Wells Fargo team managing $600 million in client assets. The team includes veteran advisors Gary Weissman and Eric Dion as well as Andrea Dellisanti, a registered Client Associate, and Peggy Eagles, a senior registered Client Associate.

Advisors Faith Harrington and Constantine Harris will join Steward Partners’ Portsmouth, New Hampshire office from Wells Fargo, where they managed more than $215 million in client assets.

Julius Baer has appointed Michel Yigit as new Head of Intermediaries Zurich and Global Custody.

Indosuez Wealth Management has hired several private bankers in Zurich; Bruno Wuest joined from Basler Kantonalbank; Antonio Caretti, formerly a long-standing BKB banker, also joins the team; Daniel Furtwaengler joins to run the Zurich-based private banking business in continental Europe.

UniCredit International Bank, has appointed Domenico Santoro as Portfolio Manager. He was previously a Discretionary Investment Portfolio Manager at UBS Luxembourg.

Commerzbank has appointed Stefan Kaczmarek as Head of Private Customers & Family Offices, succeeding Frauke Hegemann, who has been working in the management of online bank Comdirect since 1 April 2018.

The departures of Bisher Barazi, the Chief Financial Officer of their private-equity unit, and Matthew McGuire, the unit’s Chief Operating Officer, come just months after they were appointed, following a wide reorganization that saw Founder and CEO Arif Naqvi step back from day-to-day running of the private-equity business.

Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank is strengthening its US Credit Platform, with Anatoly Nakum joining as Head of Credit Trading for the Americas. He joins from Certa Group LLC, where he was a co-founder; Beth Starr joins as Head of ABS Syndicate for the Americas. She joins from Spruce Finance where she was Head of Loan Capital Markets. Gary Kucinich joins as Credit Sales, joining from Citigroup Global Markets, where he worked for over 5 years in the Investment Grade and Leveraged Credit Sales team.

HSBC has poached Henry Leung from JP Morgan and Dyutish Chaudhuri from Credit Suisse as it strengthens its equities franchise in Asia.
