PIMCO has hired Colin Riendeau as Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Development.


Ziad Hindo has been appointed Chief Investment Officer of the C$189.5 billion ($148.1 billion) Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, succeeding Bjarne Graven Larsen, who stepped down in April.


Tim Warrington, who has been acting CEO of Skagen since the departure of Øyvind Schanke in May, has been confirmed as CEO.


Wise Funds has hired Schroders’ Philip Matthews as Fund Manager to co-manage the TB Wise Multi-Asset Growth and TB Wise Multi-Asset Income funds.


Candriam has appointed Philippe Vander Elst as Portfolio Manager for ultra-high-net-worth-individuals.


Former Neptune Investment Management Portfolio Manager Kunal Desai will join Mobius Capital Partners, to work on the launch of an emerging markets fund.


Thor Equities Europe has appointed Joanna Jackson as Executive Director. Jackson previously worked within the European transactions team at Pears Global Real Estate Investors.


Aberdeen Standard Investments has promoted two people from the firm’s team in Spain. Álvaro Antón has been promoted to General Director of Aberdeen Standard Investments for Iberia and Ana Guzmán to Independent Strategic Adviser for the firm’s business in Southern Europe.


Banking

State Street Corp has named Geoff Pullen as MD of its alternatives sector for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He joins from Standard Chartered.


Hedge Funds

Stuart Roden, the Chairman and Senior Partner of Lansdowne Partners, will leave after 17 years.


Och-Ziff Capital Management Group LLC is putting a new generation into top leadership positions with Jeff Lin promoted to Head of U.S. equities; Ghassan Ayoub will run convertible and derivative arbitrage alone and Peter Wallach  named Head of Risk Management. Founder David Windreich, who founded Och-Ziff will retire, leaving James Levin as sole chief investment officer.


Citadel has hired Peter Gylfe, a Portfolio Manager and Managing Partner at Bay Street Capital Partners, as an Analyst in its Citadel Global Equities unit.


IBD / Capital Markets

PJ Solomon has hired Jim McGinnis to head its renewables coverage. He was  most recently Founder and Chief Executive of the financing and investments unit of Irish wind and solar firm Mainstream Renewable Power Ltd.


JP Morgan has picked two managers, Tobias Heilmaier and Michele Iozzolino to lead its mergers and acquisitions and capital markets business in Germany.


Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired Struan Robertson, a senior dealmaker who last worked for a major investment bank, Morgan Stanley, in 2012.


NORD/LB Norddeutsche Landesbank has appointed Christian Lips as new Chief Economist, succeeding Torsten Windels, who leaves NORD/LB at his own request after more than ten years in the position.


Bank of America Merrill Lynch is moving forward with plans to position its investment banking business post Brexit, moving three of its most senior London-based sales and trading executives, Sanaz Zaimi, Vanessa Holtz and Othmane Kabbaj to the bank’s new Paris office.


Insurance

Lockton has appointed Jerry Ridge as Global Head of Marine and Energy reinsurance. He joins from Willis Re where he was Chairman of Global Specialty.


Validus Specialty, has appointed Bob Eells as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He joins from XL Catlin.


Bupa Hong Kong has appointed Andrew Merrilees as General Manager. He recently led Lockton’s regional Employee Benefits business across Asia Pacific.


Chubb has appointed Matthew Hardy as Executive Vice President of Global Energy, replacing Roger Giddings who will leave later in the year. Hardy was previously Product Head – Energy for Chubb Global Markets and head of international energy for Chubb Overseas General.


Private Banking / Wealth Management

Contineo, has poached Antoine de Charnacé from DBS private bank as new CEO.


Crossbridge Capital Asia, has appointed Hanna Tantoco as Head of Marketing chief, overseeing operations across the Asia-Pacific region. She was most recently the Marketing Business Partner for Asia-Pacific at Aetna International.


Christophe Aba, JP Morgan Private Bank’s MD and Regional Head of Investments for Southeast Asia, is moving to the US to be Head of Investments for Mexico.


Stifel has opened a new office and hired a Wells Fargo team that managed $400 million, including advisors Brendan Wolverton, his son Josh, and Alen Pellerin.

HSBC has hired former Barclays MD, Anthony DeMartinoas an MD to focus on emerging markets (Americas, East Coast, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, United States).
