Fidelity International has promoted Steve Ellis to Global Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income following Charles Mckenzie retirement.

Vanguard Chairman Bill McNabb will leave the firm at the end of 2018 and current CEO, Tim Buckley will take on the role on January 1.

Pimco has appointed Greg Sharenow to the $6.1 billion Pimco Commodity Real Return Strategy fund and Citywire A-rated Jeremie Banet to the $1.1 billion the Pimco Inflation Response Multi-Asset fund.

Aberdeen Standard Investments has added four Portfolio Managers in Shanghai and Hong Kong; Edmund Goh, Asian Fixed Income Investment Manager, has relocated from Singapore to Shanghai; Aaron Ni has joined in Shanghai as an Investment Manager, responsible for covering onshore China credits; Alec Jin has been appointed an Investment Manager on the Asian equities team; Stella Li has started in Shanghai as an Investment Manager for China equities.

Patrick Disney is to retire from the fiduicary management specialist, SEI at the end of March 2019 after nearly 20 years. His role as Head of Institutional for Europe, the Middle East and Africa will be taken over by Ian Love.

State Street Global Advisors has hired Jeremy Rideau as Head of Liability-Driven Investments for its fixed income, cash and currency team in EMEA. He was previously Head of Solutions Fund Management at Legal & General Investment Management.

Fidelity has promoted Bond Fund Manager Steve Ellis to Chief Investment Officer for Fixed Income, replacing Charles McKenzie, who is due to retire at the year end.

Robeco has named Ed Collinge as Global Head of Insurance Strategy. He was previously worked at Invesco, where he led the European Institutional Insurance team.

Insticube has hired Jan Kehrbaum as Head of Technology and Product Development.

AQR Capital Management has hired Howard Mansell, the leader of Facebook’s artificial intelligence research team to head up its own research engineering department.


Generali Global Health has appointed Ran Wang as Head of Market Development for Asia Pacific. He moves from Aetna, where he was Regional Head of Strategy and Product.

Swiss Re has announced that long-standing Operating Chief Thomas Wellauer will retire next summer.

Canopius has appointed Gabrielle Folliard as Head of Claims. She joins from Markel International, where she was Head of Specialty and Financial Lines Claims.

Private Banking / Wealth Management

Barclays Wealth Management has named three Wealth Managers in its Newcastle office in the United Kingdom; Peter Wagstaff, Chris Wade and Allister Hogg, join from Coutts, Wesleyan Financial Services and True Potential, respectively.

Brewin Dolphin has appointed Paul Mansfield from Sanlam Private Wealth as new Director of Portfolio Management at its Reigate office. This follows the departure of Ebru Smith, in March.

Alberto Cuñarro has joined Aiva’s Private Wealth Management team in Montevideo. Prior to joining Aiva, Cuñarro co-founded his own advisory group in Santiago, Chile named Amplo Asesores.
