Asset Management

Ulrike Kaiser-Boeing, a fund expert with 25 years of experience has been appointed Swiss Country Head of Belgian asset manager Degroof Petercam. She replaces Frédéric Guibaud who left the company at the end of last year. 


JP Morgan AM’s former Chief Investment Officer for Fixed Income, Nick Gartside, will join Munich Re as CIO.


Merian Global Investors Chief Executive Richard Buxton has stepped down and is to be replaced as CEO by Mark Gregory, who joined the firm’s board last year.


J.P. Morgan Asset Management has hired Edward Malcolm as UK Head of ETF Distribution, Wealth and Intermediaries from State Street Global Advisors.


The Asset Management division of Spanish group Santalucía has been renamed as Santalucía Asset Management following the completion of the merger process of the Group’s two managers Santalucía Gestión and Alpha Plus Gestora and will be led by Gonzalo Meseguer, an industry veteran who joins from BBVA Asset Management where he was Marketing and Commercial Director.


Banking

J.P. Morgan has appointed Oliver Brinkmann as new Head   Corporate Banking Operations in Asia Pacific. He joins from Lloyds Banking Group.


The Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce has appointed Xinxin Rinderknecht-Liang as Deputy General Manager. She was a manager at China Construction Bank in Zurich and this is an indication of the importance of the bank for financial relations between the two countries.


Insurance

Global Atlantic Financial Group has appointed Anup Agarwal as Deputy Chief Investment Officer. He joins from Western Asset Management, where he was Head of Residential, Consumer and Commercial Credit.


Argo Group U.S, has appointed Gary Grose as Interim Head of its Colony Specialty business, in addition to his current responsibilities as Argo Group’s Head of Marketing and Producer Management.


Everest Re Group, Ltd. has announced that current President and Chief Executive Officer Dominic J. Addesso will retire at the end of 2019.


Allianz has hired Aaron Fryer as new Regional Chief Financial Officer for Asia Pacific. He was previously Deputy Regional CFO at Allianz.


Assistant Professor Chayanna Siripirom has been appointed Chief Executive of Sompo’s Thailand business.


Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, has appointed Alfred Barth as Senior Claims Adjuster in Germany.


HDI Global Specialty, created by the merger of the specialty lines activities of Hannover Re and HDI Global, has appointed Ralph Beutter as its first CEO.


Private Banking / Wealth Management

J. Safra Sarasin hired Angie Ma as new Managing Director and Vice Chair of Client Advisory. She joins from Credit Suisse Private Bank.


Julius Baer has hired five relationship managers for its widening network of branches in Germany. Andreas Beier, Matthias Luck and Anke Werdecker who join from UBs,will work in Frankfurt, Klaus-Erik Treiber from Merck Finck joins in Kiel and Lars Jendrtzok, who joins from Bankhaus Hallbaum joins the Hanover branch. Furthermore, Julius Baer has signed a contract with wealth planner Alexandra Kolb who joins the Munich office from Hypovereinsbank.


Reyl Group has appointed Stephan Aepli to head its new External Asset Managers team.
