Buyside

Candriam has appointed Matthieu David as Global Head of Financial Institutions and Partnerships. Aside from his present role of Head of Italy, he will manage the global distribution for financial institutions, including banks and insurers. He joined Candriam in 2015 from BNP Paribas Investment Partners where he was head of external distribution in Italy.

Francesco Martorana has been named CEO of Generali Insurance Asset Management (GIAM). He joined GIAM in 2013 as head of group asset liability management and strategic asset allocation.

Head of Global Emerging Market Equities Glen Finegan is leaving Janus Henderson. His exit is followed by four team fund managers – Stephen Deane, Nicholas Cowley, Michael Cahoon and Ian Taberrer, who are all leaving in November 2019.

Hermann Montenegro has been appointed as Country Team Head for Italy and Antonio Miani as Head of Asset Management at AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets.

Former KKR Alex Navab has created private equity firm, Navab Capital Partners. The firm aims to invest in companies in the health-care, technology, media, consumer, and financial services sectors.

IDB / Capital Markets

BTIG has hired Shingo Yatsui as Managing Director, Cross-Border M&A and Head of Global Financial Services, Investment Banking. San Francisco-based Yatsui will oversee M&As for Asian clients. He joins BTIG from GCA where he was a director for the industrial, electronics and semiconductor sectors.

Insurance

Michael Hauer has been appointed as CEO for Korea at Munich Re. He has been with global reinsurer for 27 years and previously served as head of marine reinsurance for Asia Pacific.

Thomas Brazil has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Sompo International (SI) Insurance. Most recently, Brazil was Senior Vice President (SVP), and Head of Europe Property Catastrophe Reinsurance.
