Nuveen has named Jose Minaya to be its next Chief Executive Officer effective January 2020. Minaya will retain his Chief Investment Officer and President responsibilities. Meanwhile, Rekha Unnithan and David Haddad were named Co-Heads of impact investing in private markets. Unnithan will continue her role as lead portfolio manager on the firm’s private markets investment team. Haddad was a former partner at Olympus Partners.

Knut Pedersen is stepping down from his role as Chief Executive Officer of Catella. Pedersen joined the Swedish asset manager in 2014.

Richard Hedley has joined Sunsuper as a Portfolio Manager for private markets. Hedley previously served State Super as chief investment officer.

PGIM expands its Institutional Relationship Group’s (IRG) business lines in Europe, the Middle East and North America. London-based Stephen Oxley has been appointed as Managing Director for Continental Europe and Middle East. Udo von Werne, who is based in Zurich, was also hired as Managing Director for the DACH region. Oxley joins from Paamco Prisma, where he most recently was vice chairman and partner. Von Werne previously served as CEO for the EMEA region at Nikko AM.

Lazard UK Investment Banking has launched a new team, Lazard Venture and Growth Banking, and appointed Garri Jones and Nick James as Managing Directors in the company’s UK investment banking business. The Lazard Ventures and Growth Banking team will focus on the private growth equity and venture capital markets. Jones and James both came from Numis and managed a ventures practice together.

Co-Head of FIG M&A Felix Scherzer has left Credit Suisse. Scherzer joined the firm in 2015 from Morgan Stanley.


Lockton has named Will Seccombe as Business Leader of its new APAC Transactional Risks Division. Mindy Ng has been appointed as Vice President, based in Singapore. Seccombe, who is based in Hong Kong, joins from JLT where he was a managing director of JLT M&A Group in Asia. Ng also came from JLT.

Chaucer has tapped ex-Swiss Re Nicola Stacey for the role of Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO). Stacey previously worked as a managing director for risk management and globally for P&C Reinsurance at Swiss Re Europe.
