Buyside

Raanan Agus and Mike Brandmeyer have been named Co-Heads of alternative investments and manager selection at Goldman Sachs. They replaced Chris Kojima, who is now co-leading the newly formed alternatives capital markets and strategy group inside the merchant banking division.

Co-Founder of PointState Capital Josh Samuelson has announced his departure from the firm. He will stay for several months during the transition period and will remain an investor of the firm. Zach Kurz, a partner at the firm, is taking over Samuelson’s responsibilities and will also become deputy chief investment officer.

Mark Tucker has been appointed Senior Independent Director at CVC Credit Partners. Tucker joined the investment firm in 2013 as a non-executive director and has previously served as president and chief executive of broker dealer firm Arborhedge.

Insurance

Damien Green has been appointed Chief Executive of Manulife, overseeing its businesses in Hong Kong and Macau. Prior to this, he was chief strategy and transformation officer for Asia.

Munich Re has named James Park Chief Executive for Singapore and South East Asia. Before that, Park was regional head of property treaty underwriting across India, Korea and South-east Asia.

GEICO President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Roberts has announced his retirement. Roberts began his career at the firm in 1984. Todd Combs is taking over the post of CEO and will continue to continue to manage $14 billion of investments for Berkshire Hathaway.

Rene Keller has been appointed Chief Information Officer for Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking at Standard Chartered. He was most recently group data officer and group head of innovation at Deutsche Bank.
