Buyside

AllianceBernstein has promoted Sharon E. Fay to Chief Responsibility Officer and Michelle Dunstan to Global Head of Responsible Investing. Both will work together in overseeing the firm’s responsible investing strategy, which drives research and stewardship activities and integrating responsible investing into investment decisions. Fay was previously co-head of equities while Dunstan will continue her responsibilities as portfolio manager.

AXA Investment Managers has added six senior people within Asia’s distribution and marketing teams. Ex-Legg Mason vice president of business development Ronald Liu has been appointed Director of Private Banks Asia. Meanwhile, Marilyn Wang has been appointed Director of Private Banks in Singapore. Powell Cheung and Miu Shui, who were previously from BlackRock, have been hired as Director of Asia Retail and Associate Director of Asia Retail, respectively. Arthip Nathikanchanalab, formerly senior product manager at Kasikorn Asset Management, has been named Associate Director for Asia Retail. Additionally, Wendy Loke joined AXA IM as Head of Marketing and Communications for Asia Pacific ex-Japan. Loke previously served as head of marketing for Pimco Asia ex-Japan.

Daniel Zachmann has joined alternative investment firm HCG Funds as an Investment Director, covering small balance private credit. Zachmann most recently served as a senior investment adviser at J. Safra Sarasin.

Citigroup has appointed Fabio Lisanti its new Head of Western Europe markets, excluding the UK. In this new role, Lisanti will aim to develop closer ties with clients on the continent as Britain leaves the European Union.

IBD / Capital Markets

Nabil Lahham has joined HSBC Holdings as Head of Advisory and Corporate Finance coverage for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. Lahham joins from Perella Weinberg where he served as a partner and was responsible for starting Perella’s business in the Middle East.

Former Rothschild dealmaker Edward Griffin has been hired as a Managing Director at Raymond James. He will be responsible for expanding the firm’s financial institutions group in the UK and Europe.

ING has appointed Cristóbal Paredes as a Managing Director for corporate and investment banking business in Spain and Portugal (Iberia). Paredes has been with the firm for the past twenty years and held various roles such as head of banking services and corporate & event finance and head of strategic products & lending.

Insurance

MS&AD Insurance Group has named Noriyuki Hara its new President. Hara takes over the role from Yasuyoshi Karasawa, current president and chief executive of the group, who will step up to the role of chairman. Hara’s existing role is president and chief executive of Mitsui Sumitomo, an MS&AD subsidiary.
