Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec has appointed Marc-Andre Blanchard as Executive Vice President and Head of CDPQ Global, effective September 8. In this role, he will oversee the firm’s three regional hubs outside Canada: Asia-Pacific, Europe and United States/Latin America. Presently, Blanchard is serving as ambassador and permanent representative of Canada to the United Nations.

Head of European Equities, Britta Weidenbach is leaving DWS Group. Weidenbach joined DWS in 1999 and has been head of equities since 2012. She also served as co-head of the firm’s EMEA equity business.

Francois Perrin has joined Belgium-based investment firm Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (GBL) as Head of ESG. Prior to this, Perrin worked at East Capital for almost five years, most recently overseeing its Asia operations from Hong Kong.

Credit Suisse has established a new investment unit called Sustainability, Research and Investment Solutions (SRI). The new unit will be managed by Lydie Hudson, who most recently served as chief compliance and regulatory affairs officer.


Pavlos Spyropoulos was named Country Manager for Singapore and Chief Executive for Lloyd’s Asia. Spyropoulos has been with the firm for 12 years, most recently as APAC head of market development.

Willis Towers Watson has appointed Wise Xu as its new China Country Leader, on top of his existing role of head of corporate risk and broking in China.
