Daily People Moves – March 4


BlackRock Investment Institute named Wei Li as Global Chief Investment Strategist. She replaces Mike Pyle who became senior economic adviser to U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris in January. Prior to this, Li was head of investment strategy for iShares business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Tom Caddick has joined Nedgroup Investments as Head of Investments within the firm’s multi-management division. Caddick previously worked at Santander Asset Management where he was most recently chief investment officer.

Adrian Lee & Partners appointed Mark Curtis as Head of Sales and Marketing. Before that, Curtis was global head of sales at Mariner Investment Group.

Ming Kemp has joined Canada Life Asset Management as Asia Pacific Equity Manager. Kemp most recently served as Emerging Markets fund manager at Polar Capital.

Private Banking / Wealth Management

Standard Chartered Bank named Chandrima Das as Global Head of Managed Investments, effective April 5. Based in Singapore, she will be responsible for building and growing the funds and discretionary portfolio management businesses. Before joining Standard Chartered, Das is the co-founder of Bento, an investment advisor platform with robotic and human components. Prior to that, she held leadership positions in financial institutions such as Bank of Singapore, ING, and Prudential.

Joe Cheung was appointed Location Head for Hong Kong at Equiom. He will lead the firm’s strategic development, growth and client service delivery. Cheung is the former co-head of Greater China and Hong Kong managing director at Vistra.


Abdul Raof Latiff was appointed Country Head of Malaysia at DBS. He replaces Jeffrey Ling who is retiring from the firm. Latiff is currently DBS’ group head of digital for institutional banking and group head of global transaction services product management.
