People Moves: November 8-19


Cohen & Steers appointed Joseph M. Harvey as CEO effective March 2022. He succeeds company co-founder Robert H. Steers who will take on the role of Executive Chairman. Harvey joined the firm in 1992 as an analyst, assumed the role of CIO from 2003 to 2019 and most recently served as president.

Citadel promoted Pablo Salame to Co-Chief Investment Officer. Salame joined Citadel to lead its credit business in 2019.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management named Ed Francis as Managing Director for U.K. Fiduciary Management business. Before that, Francis was head of investment for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Willis Towers Watson.

Voya Investment Management named Vincent Costa as Co-Chief Investment Officer for equities. Costa will retain his current responsibilities as head of quantitative equity team and portfolio manager in Voya’s large-cap value strategy group.

Marte Borhaug joined Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s international equity team. She will lead the team’s responsible investment strategy across ESG integration, active ownership and public advocacy. Borhaug previously served as global head of ESG investment solutions at Aviva Investors.

Blackstone Credit named Viral Patel as Global Head of Technology Investing. Prior to this, he was in the firm’s tactical opportunities group.

Natixis Investment Managers appointed Liana Magner as Executive Vice President and Head of US Retirement and Institutional. Prior to Natixis IM, Magner was a partner and defined contribution leader at Mercer.

Carletta Ooton joined Apollo as Head of ESG for Private Equity and Operating Partner. Before that, Ooton was vice president of product assurance, risk and security at Amazon.

Manulife Investment Management appointed Isaac Meng as a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income. Meng was previously at PIMCO Asia as senior vice president, portfolio manager and macro strategist. The firm also named Judy Kwok as Head of Greater China Fixed Income Research. Kwok joins from Bank of Singapore where she was director of fixed income research.

Private Banking / Wealth Management

Benjamin Cavalli was named Head of Wealth Management APAC at Credit Suisse. Prior to this, Cavalli was head of private banking for South Asia and Singapore CEO.

Chia Pei Jet joined Citi Private Bank as a Managing Director and Investment Counselor Team Lead for Singapore and Malaysia UHNW business. Most recently, Chia was a global investment specialist and team lead for Indonesia at JP Morgan Private Bank.


Allianz Asia Pacific appointed Anusha Thavarajah as Regional Chief Executive Officer. Thavarajah is currently Regional CEO of Life & Health. She joined the firm in 2019.

HSBC Life & Insurance Partnerships appointed Greg Hingston as Global CEO, effective January 1. Hingston has been with the HSBC Group for 15 years and served as head of WPB Hong Kong, regional head of retail banking, EMEA, head of customer value management, and head of international for retail banking and wealth management in Europe.
