Buyside

Ex-GAM Matthias Wildhaber moved to Credit Suisse as Director and Portfolio Manager. He left GAM upon the mass restructuring which resulted to the exit of 13 fund managers. Tom Mansley and Gary Singleterry assumed responsibility for the GAM Multibond – ABS fund.


IBD/Capital Markets

Nicholas Stuart was promoted to Managing Director, Oil and Gas at Keybank Capital Markets. Andrew Baker has also been appointed to the role of Director, Oil and Gas investment banking group.


Insurance

John Pasquesi succeeds Constantine ‘Dinos’ Iordanou as Chairman of the Board at Arch Capital Group effective September 2019. Iordanou joined the firm in 2002 and significantly contributed to the firm’s worldwide insurance, reinsurance and mortgage insurance presence. He assumed the CEO role in 2003 until March 2018. Pasquesi who also serves as managing member and founder of Otter Capital, a private equity investment firm, is presently lead director of the board at Arch and has been the vice chairman since 2001.


Serene Neo has been appointed as Division Head of A&H for Chubb Singapore. Previously, she was Senior Vice President & Head of Brand Strategy & Insights at Group Brand, a local bank.


Allianz Insurance named Gerry Ross to Head of Commercial Motor post. He will manage the commercial motor and digital motor accounts. Most recently, Ross was regional underwriting director and played a crucial role in the transfer of LV= business to Allianz.


QBE Head of Underwriting and Distribution Ian Ovenden has left the firm. Hong Kong-based Ovenden joined the firm in 2016 and had previous stints at RSA in London and Hong Kong. Later on, he moved to Allied World after the acquisition of RSA’s Hong Kong and Singapore businesses. Rodney Bond, regional head of workers’ compensation will replace Ovenden.


Ex-MetLife John Hele joined Resolution Life as President, COO. Before the move, Hele was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at MetLife from 2012 to 2018. He will be responsible for all global operations including Finance, Risk, Actuarial, Operations, IT and P&L business units at Resolution Life.


Insurance – Technology

Dan Shoham is named new Chief Science Officer of Betterview, an insurtech platform provider for property transactions.


Kent Chaplin has resigned from his role as Chief Executive, Asia Pacific at Lloyd’s to join DXC Technology. Based in Singapore, Chaplin assumes the role of Global Head of Sales, Reinsurance and Specialty at DXC, providing leadership advantage to the firm’s significant presence in the technology insurance claims.
