Asset Management

Tim Robson was named Head of Alternatives at the Pension Protection Fund.

Natixis Asset Management Asia, Natixis Asset Management’s Singapore-based platform, has appointed Chou Chong as Head of Asian Equities Management.

Narina Mnatsakanian was named Director of Impact and Responsible Investment at Kempen Capital Management. The position is new. Mnatsakanian was director of impact, ESG and investor relations at private equity boutique Sarona Asset Management.

Neptune Investment Management has hired the former CEO of M&G Investments Michael McLintock as a Special Adviser, as Head of Distribution Charlie Parker leaves the firm to join Sanlam Wealth. McLintock was at M&G for 19 years and retired from his CEO role last year, to be succeeded by Anne Richards.

Mark Burbach has left Blue Sky Group, fiduciary manager for Dutch airline KLM’s pension funds, after eight years as Chief Investment Officer. He has joined Osool Asset Management in Bahrain, which runs government and military pensions as well as social security funds.

Henderson has hired Steve Weeple, former Head of US Equities at Standard Life Investments, as a Portfolio Manager. Weeple worked at Standard Life Investments in Boston for seven years in various roles including Director of Equity Research and Head of US Equities.

Paris-based asset manager La Financière de l’Echiquier (LFDE) has appointed Jean-François Bay as Head of Strategy, Business Development and International, effective 15 May 2017. Bay will sit within the firm’s board committee and will report to Didier Le Menestrel, chairman and CEO of LFDE.

Jeffrey Woodard has joined AXA Investment Managers’ growing infrastructure equity business. The move follows the appointment of Mark Gilligan as Head of Infrastructure Equity in October last year. Woodard joins from UBS Asset Management where he has held a number of roles since 2000.

Commerce & Industry

Serena Tan has joined Morrison & Foerster as Partner in its Corporate Group.

Withers has hired Senior Tax Adviser and Zeirishi Shingo Iizuka in its Tokyo office. Iizuka joins the firm from Deloitte’s Tokyo team, where he was Director of the Private Company and the Global Employer practices, and prior to that was Deputy Director in the Tokyo bureau of Japan’s National Tax Agency.

Hedge Funds

Rubicon Fund Management LLP, a unit of Rubicon Global Fund said Jeffrey Brummette, one of the founding partners, is rejoining the firm as Head of Marketing. Brummette will also assume the role of Chief Investment Officer for the recently launched Rubicon Dynamic Fund.

Private Banking / Wealth Management

A Raymond James team has left the firm to join Stifel. Mark Kopkin and Scott Englehardt now operate from Stifel’s Atlanta office. They are joined by Yolanda Etchison, Client Service Associate. Kopkin started his career at Merrill Lynch in 1984 while Englehardt got his start in the business at Chatfield, Dean & Co. in 1991.

Maria Eroshin has joined the Citi Private Bank San Francisco team as a Director and Private Banker, reporting to Hoyt Gier, Head of the Western Region North. Eroshin joins the Private Bank from U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, where she served as a Private Client Advisor and previously worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager.

Tyler Brasfield and Lawrence Parente have joined Union Bank’s Private Wealth Management team in San Francisco, CA as Private Wealth Advisors. Brasfield joins as a Vice President and Parente joins as a Director. They report to Lisa Roberts, Head of Private Wealth Management for Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.

Standard Life Wealth, the discretionary fund manager, has promoted John Hair to CIO, and Julie-Ann Ashcroft to Head of Investments, alongside Darren Ripton. Both John and Julie-Ann moved to Standard Life Wealth following the acquisition of Newton private client business in 2013.

Private Equity / Direct Investment

Thor Equities, a global leader in urban real estate development, leasing and management, has announced the appointment of Elan Blum as Residential Asset Manager. Previously, Mr. Blum was a senior associate at Related Companies, where he managed the company’s national real estate portfolio including luxury residential units and condominiums.

Equity Trustees will welcome a new addition to its Corporate Trustee Services team. James Connell will join the firm’s Sydney office as Senior Manager, Structured Finance – Corporate Trusts. Connell has held senior roles with a number of institutions including BNY Mellon, Deloitte and Australian Executor Trustees. He was most recently Deutsche Bank vice president, transaction management group APAC based in Hong Kong.

Private Equity firm CVC Capital Partners has appointed Nobuaki Kurumatani as president of its Japan operations. Kurumatani joins CVC from Japan’s leading financial institution Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, where he worked most recently as Deputy President and Board Director.

Lisa Wold has joined Cushman & Wakefield Realkapital in Norway as Head of Capital Markets. She replaces Peer Christensen, who will continue his role as advisor and chairman. Wold has more than 17 years’ experience in the Nordic real estate markets and joins from Arctic Securities.
