Asset Management

Mabel Chan, co-Head of Intermediary Business at Eastspring Investments, following a team restructuring.

Amundi CEO for Southeast Asia, Jenny Sofian, has resigned following their acquisition of Pioneer Investments. Jack Lin, previously head of Asia-Pacific and the Middle East at Pioneer, will take over as Head of the new entity.

Katie Petering has been named  Head of Asset Manager Sales, Australia for  iShares exchange-traded funds arm, to lead sales to asset managers, insurers, banks and pension funds. Petering will report to Jon Howie, Australia head of iShares and index investing.

Celestine Khoo, Head of Southeast Asia at Principal Global Investors has been promoted to Head of Asia ex-Japan, while maintain her previous responsibilities.

Johnson Har, has been appointed an institutional sales manager in Hong Kong,  at Northern Trust, where he will cover asset owners and asset managers across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.

Franklin Templeton in Australia, is to undergo a management restructure. Local managing director, Maria Wilton becomes a consultant/advisor. This follows the departure of Jim McKay earlier this year to become MD Warakirri Asset Management. Charlie Levinge, former Franklin Templeton senior institutional sales person, also left in March moving to Grant Samuel Asset Management as Head of Institutional. Keri Pratt and Jim Savage the two most senior institutional business executives were made redundant last year.

Steen Foldberg Head of Luxembourg at Julius Baer,  will move to Aberdeen Asset Management as Country Head for Luxembourg.

Robert Young, Senior Multi-asset Portfolio Manager and Head of Institutional Convertible Securities at Invesco and portfolio manager Lyndon Man  will co-manage the newly launched Invesco Global Convertible Fund.

Tim Buckley, Chief Investment Officer at Vanguard has been appointed President and Director by the Board of Directors, succeeding Bill McNabb, who stays on as Chairman of the Board.

Zhenbo Hou has been hired as a member BlueBay Asset Management’s emerging markets research team in London. He moves from Bank of China.

Kathryn McDonald, AXA Investment Managers Director of Investment Strategy, has been promoted to head of sustainable investing, a new position.


Chen Bing has been appointed CEO for China at BNP Paribas, to lead the bank’s businesses in China, including private banking, corporate banking, investment banking and securities services. he maintains his previous responsibilities as head of corporate and business development for greater China and head of BNP Paribas’s RMB competence centre.

Hedge Funds

Man Group has promoted Antoine Forterre and Matthew Sargaison as co-chief executives of Man AHL. Man Group’s Chief Investment Officer, Sandy Rattray retains oversight of Man AHL.

Artisan Partners has announced that Marc Peterzens has been appointed a director on their EMEA Distribution Team, in London. Mr. Peterzens will support business development in the Nordic and Benelux regions.

IBD / Capital Markets

Robert Willoughby, has been appointed a Senior Advisor in the healthcare investment banking group at Credit Suisse Group AG. He will work provide strategic advice to Credit Suisse’s healthcare services clients.

Bernd Geisenberger, Head of Corporate Banking at Commerzbank Switzerland will leave to join Proventis Partners as a Partner and Member of the Board.


Industry veteran Berry Wong has been named as the Charles Monat Associates’ new Chief Executive Officer in Hong Kong. The highly experienced Mr. Wong will report to CMA Group CEO, Yves Guélat.

Private Banking / Wealth Management

Oliver Barnett has been appointed an associate director and new team head at Weatherbys Private Bank. he moves from Signia Wealth where he was Head of Lending.

Redhawk Wealth Advisors has recruited Chris Kurtz, an Investment Advisor Representative.

John Ng has been appointed Head of Portfolio Counselling and Product Strategy at DBS Private Bank to provide strategic portfolio advice and formulate model portfolios for different market segments.

Christian Senn has been appointed Singapore-based Market Group Head of the Philippines for private banking, by Credit Suisse, replacing Carole Cheung, who has become the most senior client partner for the Philippines, based in Hong Kong.

Private Equity / Direct Investment

Marcus Partners has confirmed that Shawn Hurley will join them as President at the beginning of September, replacing Frank Wuest, who died in August.

M&G Real Estate, has hired Tenshin Ito as new Head of Japan, replace Ishikawa Katsuhiro, who left in April. He will manage the Japanese acquisition and asset management teams.

David Johnson has been hired by Knight Frank Investment Management as a partner.
