Asset Management

T. Rowe Price has announced that  Vice-Chairman Edward Bernard will retire at the end of 2018, after 30-years with the firm.


Macquarie Group has made two hires to its transition management team, with Paul McGee joining as a Senior Vice President, and Ben Mooney as a Vice President. This follows the group’s appointment to the National LGPS Framework.


Ahmet Peker has joined Feri Trust’s institutional client team and will be responsible within the Feri Group for investment management, investment consulting and investment research.


Meaghan Muldoon has been appointed to lead BlackRock’s sustainable investing operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She was previously the group’s MD of Corporate Strategy, based in New York.


Jupiter Asset Management has hired Talib Sheikh as Head of Strategy, Multi-Asset. He joins from  JP Morgan Asset Management where he was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager.


Wells Fargo Asset Management has appointed Peter Weidner as Head of Factor Solutions and Mark Brandreth as a Senior Portfolio Manager within its multi-asset team. They both join from the Schroders multi-asset team.


Fredrik Cygnaeus has joined HSBC Global Asset Management as MD of HSBC Global Asset Management’s branch in Sweden, responsible for building HSBC Global Asset Management’s client-centric business across the Nordic region, together with Sales Manager Kim Lindberg.


Fraser Blain, former Head of UK Retail Distribution at Allianz Global Investors, has joined Zurich UK in a newly-created role as national investment development director.


Montpensier Finance has appointed Jérôme Antonini and Gilles Constantini as Directors within their investment team managing the large and mid-caps European equities funds: Best Business Models and Great European Models.


Hedge Funds

Matthew Cartwright has left Saxo Markets to join Fund One as a COO.


Takuma Watanabe has joined Folger Hill Asset Management in Hong Kong as a Portfolio Manager. He was most recently a portfolio manager at Tokyo Star Bank in Japan.


Auroville Investment Management in Hong Kong has appointed Henley Executive Hedge Fund Program graduate, Gaurav Gupta, as a trader. He was most recently at Deutsche Bank and earlier at JP Morgan.


Private Banking / Wealth Management

HDFC BankBSE 0.57 % has appointed Rakesh Singh as Private Banking Head, and role he adds to his current portfolio, heading the bank’s investment banking, capital markets and financial institutions businesses.


Janney Montgomery Scott, has appointed Andrew Aubrey from Merrill Lynch, as First Vice President and Wealth Manager.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management has named Eric Czepyha as Head of Private Business Advisory in Columbus, Ohio, where he will provide expertise and guidance in the review and analysis of client business interests, including financial analysis and valuation, mergers and acquisitions, pre-transaction planning and corporate governance.


Notenstein La Roche’s former CEO, Adrian Kuenzi has joined Union Bancaire Privée, or UBP, as its lead in Zurich and Head of northern European region. He replaces Peter Schmid, who joins Deutsche Bank next month.


Deutsche Bank has appointed Borja Martos as Head of Wealth Management in Spain and as a member of the Deutsche Bank SAE executive committee. He joins from Credit Suisse AG in Spain.
