Asset Management

Gregory Ohlson has been hired by PineBridge as Consultant Relations Manager.


Comgest, has appointed Jimmy Chen as an Analyst specialising in Asian equities, specifically focused on the Chinese market. He will work closely with lead Portfolio Manager David Raper, who heads up the Asian research team, as well as the Analyst/Portfolio Managers Baijing Yu and Jasmine Kang, dedicated to Comgest’s Greater China strategy.


Old Mutual Wealth affiliate, Quilter Cheviot, has appointed Mats Arthursson, Suneet Kumar and James Gatehouse to its investment management team in London bringing to 69 their number of London-based investment managers.


Jim Cielinski has been appointed Global Head of Fixed Income at Janus Henderson Investors from 1 January. Mr. Cielinski takes responsibility for the development of fixed income business and moves from Columbia Threadneedle Investments where he ran a 165 member team of investment professionals as a Global Head of Fixed Income.


Wim Henk Steenpoorte has bee appointed as a member of APG’s executive board responsible for pension fund services. He has been in the role of interim Chief Operating Officer of the firm since March.


Fidelity International has added Mirjam Raschka, Maarten Frouws and Christopher Lyon Lynch to its asset management and investment team for its eurozone commercial real estate portfolio. They join from Hannover Leasing, Bouwfonds Investment Management and Ivanhoé Cambridge Europe, respectively.


BNP Paribas Real Estate has hired David Alonso as their Spanish division’s Head of Research, a newly-created position. Alonso will look to deepen their research on macroeconomic and market considerations and focus on the continued incorporation of this analysis into decision making.


RPMI Railpen, has named Jocelyn Brown Senior Investment Manager of the company’s sustainable ownership team. She will report to Leo George, head of sustainable ownership at Railpen.


Joachim Vierlinger has joined Raiffeisen Capital Management as Senior Institutional Sales Manager, responsible for institutional clients in Austria. He moves from Invesco Asset Management where he was a Senior Sales and Relationship Manager.


Natasha Cazenave has been named Guillaume Eliet’s replacement as MD, Head of Policy and International Affairs at the AMF. Ms. Cazenave has been at the AMF since December 2010. Ms. Cazenave was appointed Deputy Head in the Asset Management Regulation Division of the Policy and International Affairs Department in February 2015.


Muzinich & Co has hired Howard Mahon as Director, pan-Europe Private Debt to head up their new Dublin office.  He is responsible for strengthening private debt capabilities and building a team dedicated to the Irish private debt market.


Smith & Williamson has hired Barings’ Matthew Finch as an Associate Director to promote the firm’s DFM and managed portfolio services, working in the outsourced investment services team, alongside Julian Polnik and Lucy Mitchell.


Fund of Funds

Guillaume Brusson has joined WiseAM as Portfolio Manager. He was previously Head of Multimanagement at Pink Capital.


Hedge Funds

Daniel Gottlander has joined Citadel Securities as Head of Swaps Trading where he support the expansion of their fast-growing fixed income franchise, including the electronic business for benchmark US dollar and euro interest rate swaps as well as the voice business for customised swaps. He joins from Citigroup, where he was a Vice President in the North American rates trading group.


Jean Gabriel Prince a senior quant at Tudor Investment Corporation has joined Marto Capital as Head of Quantitative Research.


IBD / Capital Markets

UBS has hired Catherine Cai as Executive Vice-Chairman in its Asia-Pacific investment bank, a new role at the bank. She will move from Citigroup where she was Chairman and Head of China Investment Banking.


Martin Byers, former Executive Director and Head of Emerging Companies Research at UBS Investment Bank in Sydney has joined Celeste Funds Management.


Manuel San Salvador has been named Andbank Group’s  Head of Corporate M&A team, moving from his role as CEO of Andbank in Luxembourg. He will continue on their management board. Gabriel Uriel Levcovich, who has been with Andbank since 2014, will be replace San Salvador as CEO of Andbank Luxembourg.


Insurance

Zurich Insurance Group has appointed Kathleen Savio as new CEO of its North American business, replacing Mike Foley who will step down in January 2108.


Hong Leong Assurance Bhd has appointed Loke Kah Meng as COO, where he will drive and execute strategies fundamental to their aim of enhancing business value creation and solidifying their position as the top domestic life insurance company in Malaysia.


Private Banking / Wealth Management

Wayne Green and his wife Therese Green, a husband-and-wife team managing over $170 million have Morgan Stanley to join Raymond James independent arm.


Klaus Wellershoff will take up the role of CEO of his consulting firm again after Felix Brill resigned to join VP Bank in Liechtenstein. Wellershoff has hired two more analysts, Constantin Vayenas as senior investment consultant, and Andrea Lassmann as chief economist to strengthen the research department.


Julius Baer CEO, Boris Collardi has appointed Bernhard Hodler as Deputy CEO and has brought in Oliver Bartholet from UBS as new Chief Risk Officer, effective 1 April, 2018.

Philipp Schwalber, has left at HgCapital where he was a Partner and Head of the healthcare investment team, to join BC Partners.


Abraaj Group has appointed Kito de Boer formerly of McKinsey & Co. as a Managing Partner to oversee its impact investing business.


James Beckham of Cushman & Wakefield has moved to CBRE  as Head of their London investment properties team.

Per Nordstrom has joined Contineo as Head of Sales, to drive business growth.
