Daily People Moves – June 2


J.P. Morgan Asset Management named Tomomi Shimada as Lead Sustainable Investing Strategist for Asia Pacific. Shimada joined the firm in 2010 and previously held investment stewardship and client adviser roles in London and Tokyo.

Abbe Franchot Borok was appointed Managing Director and Head of U.S. Debt at BentallGreenOak. Prior to this, Borok served as managing director and head of CRE and debt strategies at The Amherst Group.

Stephanie Niven joined Ninety One as a Thematic Equity Portfolio Manager within the firm’s multi-asset team. Before that, Niven was a co-manager of Aviva Investors’ Global Equity Endurance fund.

Alllianz Global Investors hired Gaurav Saroliya and Joe Pak as Portfolio Managers within its fixed income team. Saroliya previously worked for Oxford Economics as head of macro strategy. Pak is joining from Rothesay Life, where he was lead portfolio manager.


Chubb named Glen Browne as Division President for Asia Pacific Consumer Lines, effective July 1. Based in Singapore, he will continue his responsibilities as deputy regional president for Asia Pacific. In this new role, Browne will oversee direct marketing, consumer partnerships and digital distribution for both the company’s general and life insurance divisions in the region.

Simon Hermant joined Swiss Re as Vice President for iptiQ, the firm’s digital life and health insurance platform and B2B2C provider of bespoke insurance solutions. Prior to Swiss Re, Hermant was head of portfolio management for accident and health, travel and warranty for Asia Pacific at AIG.
