People on the Move: August 9-13

Buyside

Blackstone appointed Ramzi Ramsey and Mike Kirkman as Managing Directors within the firm’s growth equity and opportunistic investment teams. Ramsey, who will focus on enterprise software and financial technology, previously served as a partner at SoftBank. Meanwhile, Kirkman will invest in healthcare businesses. Prior to this, he was a director at GI Partners.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management named Vincent Lu and Brian Van Elslander as Managing Directors and Co-Heads of the firm’s global performing credit group. Both previously served as co-head of private strategies at Wells Fargo Asset Management. JPMAM also appointed Andrew Creber as CEO of Australia and New Zealand. Before that, Creber was the firm’s COO for Australia asset management business.

Cécile Mariani joined T Rowe Price as Head of EMEA GFI. In this role, she is responsible for strengthening the firm’s relationships and accelerating the group’s engagements with major intermediaries across the EMEA region. Mariani joins from M&G Investments where she was head of global banks business development.

DWS named Aleksandra Njagulj as Global Head of ESG for real estate. Prior to this, Njagulj was global head of ESG at CBRE Global Investors.

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) appointed Maximilian Biagosch as Head of Direct Private Equity. Biagosch is currently the firm’s head of portfolio value creation.

Serene Sun joined RBC Global Asset Management as Director of Asia Client Coverage. Before joining RBC GAM, Sun was most recently vice president of client business for BlackRock in Hong Kong where she was responsible for business development and relationship management for China institutional distributors.

Amundi appointed Jonathan Duensing as Head of Fixed Income, U.S. Duensing was previously director of investment-grade corporates and senior portfolio manager.

Taro Kuryuzawa was appointed Country Head for Japan at State Street. He joined the firm in May from Deloitte Tohmatsu group where he was most recently head of institutional investor coverage in Japan and global lead client service partner.

Aberdeen Standard Investments named David Hanzl as Head of Wholesale – Asia Pacific and Sean Lee as Head of Institutional Sales – Southeast Asia. Hanzl previously worked at UBS Asset Management where he was head of regional operating officer for Asia Pacific. Lee is presently the firm’s head of consultant relations – Asia Pacific and will assume additional responsibilities in his new role.

Back / Middle Office

Jamie Raboy, Partner and Chief Risk Officer at Marathon Asset Management was appointed to the additional role of Chief Operating Officer. He replaces Andrew Rabinowitz, partner, president and chief operating officer, who is leaving the firm in September.
